Ollie is an odd little duck, but he is a great example for all of us. Ollie knows what he wants, and he is able to stand up against all of the other owls. We can learn a lot from Ollie. If there is something we really enjoy, we should do it.However, we DO have to do some things whether we want to do them or not. Everyone who has teeth should brush them. Everyone needs to go to school and get an education. Bathe (or shower if you’re like me) and get dressed. Don’t run around naked….And there is one other lesson we need to get from Ollie. Did you notice that Ollie was always polite when the other owls said he was supposed to sleep in the day – NOT stay awake and sleep at night? Not only was Ollie polite in the face of opposition, but he was encouraging: he wanted them to stay awake and try life in the daylight. He never told them they were wrong, and he never got tired of all the comments and yelled at them.Read this story of one odd little owl and see if anyone else in the owl community tries to see things differently. Ollie is indeed a wise little owl, and he had learned that it’s okay to be different. Will the other owls be brave and at least give it a try? Read and see for yourself.

What a wonderful book about diversity. Ollie made it okay to be different. He embraced his difference and showed his friends what he saw in the sun. Brilliantly illustrated pictures enhance the wonderful story.

this story had a cute ending and lesson. I read it to my kids as a bedtime story. The artwork is cute and I enjoy that it is formatted for Kindle so the page is full size.

The Owl Who Slept all Night was a marvelous bedtime story read with the grandkids. The illustrations are wonderful and it’s a rhyming story, our favorite type to read. This little owl meets new friends and shows his old friends what it’s like to be up during the daylight hours. We really do enjoy this author’s books.
