The Originals: Crime and Punishment
Rodion Romanovitch Raskolnikov, a brilliant yet conflicted student lives in a rented room of a run-down apartment in St. Petersburg. Extremely handsome, proud, and intelligent, Raskolnikov devises a peculiar theory about “intelligent” men being above law. To execute his theory, he contemplates committing a crime. He murders a cynical and an unscrupulous pawnbroker named Alyona Ivanovna and her sister Lizaveta. The act compels Raskolnikov to negotiate and reconcile with his own moral dilemmas.
Fyodor Dostoevsky’s incisive psychological analysis of his protagonist goes beyond Raskolnikov’s criminal act, and covers his perilous journey from suffering to redemption.
First published in The Russian Messenger in monthly instalments during 1866, Crime and Punishment, Dostoevsky’s second novel following his return from exile in Siberia, is a powerful revelation of the human condition. Is crime acceptable in the pursuit of a higher purpose?

Just buy it It’s Dostoevsky!!!
ð¸Title:- Crime and Punishmentð¸Author:- Fyodor Dostoevskyð¸Pages:- 500ð¸Genre:- Thriller/Psychological/ Philosophyð¸Publication:- OM publicationsâ¨Rodion Romanovitch Raskolnikov was a law student but got dropped of the college because he was in debt and was unable to pay the fees further. He lived off the money his mother used to send him from her yearly pension. His mother and sister held high hopes from him that he would change the circumstances they were living in. Raskolnikov pawns of his last belongings to a old pawn lady who was a unscrupulous soul and cynical woman. Raskolnikov develops a thought that he would kill her and loot her and with whatever he would gain would continue his education and what’s the point of such a lady when after her death many would benefit from it.Raskolnikov carries the murder but his thoughts don’t go with him as he planned. What follows is Raskolnikov’s paranoia, his dreams, him becoming a wretched soul. There are no spoilers in this book everybody knows everything and you can read it from anywhere and you wouldn’t spoil anything but the main thing about the story that forms it is the understanding of the human psyche his inner turmoil how he is about to loose his secret at one point to regaining his sanity the next line.â¨Fyodor just wants to get on with the crime it’s just done, what he wants to show is the punishment there are many reasons given to why Raskolnikov really commits the crime,it’s his existential dread, it’s his thinking how he is superior to everyone due to his intellect and more.â¨This book entirely isn’t just about Raskolnikov it’s about the set of characters that revolve around him and how him or they all are related to him.â¨Another thing is how poverty was looked upon at that time what Fyodor wrote at that time given the circumstances at that time period they are very well relevant till date. This will be my one of the favorite classic of all time.

The cover page is good. The quality of the pages is good. The text is a little bit cramped to fit in 500 page, can’t complain due to the price,as I think I got it for around 260, as much as I can remember.

.
Story is interesting and it raises several Moral Questions, Although it seems boring and lengthy at sone point but that’s necessary for Story building. Paper Quality is Not Bad.

Masterpiece
Masterpiece !!!! Fyodor Dostoyevsky was a master storyteller, not only able to create complex characters, but able to take the reader deeply into the character’s mind. It was the best piece I’ve ever read.
