I tested the Mport 51 – Model POR 1557, which I bought for Rs. 999, with my Asus ROG-G15 and Chromebook devices.Portronics demonstrates once more the possibility of delivering high-quality goods at reasonable prices. Every port that is offered is functional and helpful for daily chores. Along with support for HDMI ports, PD charging is a pretty nice inclusion.**The USB C to Dual HDMI Adapter to Converter with the DP Port cannot be connected using this method.***Is Extended Monitor Mode Functional?A. Sure, but only with a converter cable when utilizing an HDMI to HDMI, VGA, or DVI connection.(although it doesn’t function with a converter adapter) ;*Is it possible to have sound output via HDMI?A. Indeed,*Is there a problem with the heat?A. When doing light duties, such as HDMI or VGA output, the gadget heats up a little. However, utilizing other ports and USB flash devices may result in increased heat generation. According to my idea, the body of the gadget may be made to function as a heat sink to passively cool the ports.Pros:Strong construction quality is a plus.- Transportable.- Compatible with laptops running Chromebooks and Windows.- Compatible with phones, albeit depending on the model, HDMI ports might works good.Cons:- I discovered that I could not utilize Type C storage with the Type C (DO 3.0/Data) connector; it was only intended for device charging.- The absence of a braided cable is one of the other downsides.- There is no LAN LED indicator- There is no plug-in status indication;- Only 4k30 fps (HDMI) and 1080p 60 fps (VGA- when use the hdmi to vga cable) are supported; 4k60 fps is not an option.-To establish a fresh connection, you must reconnect the device each time.Recommendations/Area of Potential Improvement: – Switch out the PVC-coated cable for a braided or superior one- Add LED LAN indication lights.- To show whether the device is on or off, add a tiny LED status indicator to the cable output plate.- Take into consideration updating the device to enable 4k60 frames per second and improve cooling; a “plus” version could be released.Overall, the product is decent for the money.

Mport 9C Model Review
I’ve tested this device on both my MacBook Air M1 and my Redmi K20Pro, which I purchased for Rs. 3,999.As of November 2023, I’ve observed that the extended monitor mode didn’t work with HDMI, which may be unique to the MacBook Air M1. When trying to use both VGA and HDMI at the same time, the display now mirrors on both screens instead of extending, as I mentioned later in the review. If you’re thinking about getting this device, especially if you have a MacBook Air M1 or a newer model, please be aware that you can only achieve an extended display with VGA.As of March 2023, I’ve observed that the protective sleeve around the cable that comes from the adapter is damaged. This is somewhat expected with moderate use, but it could have been prevented if the cable was braided. Fortunately, this issue doesn’t affect the device’s performance, and I’ve attached an image for reference.As of December 2022, the device was working as expected. There’s also a new updated model called ‘Mport 11C’ available now, which incorporates some of the improvements I’ll mention later in this review. It’s great to see the company taking user feedback into account and enhancing its products. Please note that ‘Mport 9C’ doesn’t include a display link chipset in its adapter to provide output.Before purchasing the device, my requirements were to connect a monitor with a VGA port and a TV with HDMI. I wanted to display my laptop screen on the TV for watching movies and use the external display on my VGA monitor. Additionally, I wanted a LAN port integrated for downloading large files.I came across this device about a year ago while searching for an all-in-one hub that met my needs, including VGA, HDMI and LAN. Other options in the market were either expensive or lacked the desired ports. When I initially found this device, it had all the features I was looking for. However, I postponed my purchase due to a software issue with MacOS and external hubs with Type C ports. This issue was resolved in MacOS 12 or later versions. Finally, I decided to purchase the device, and it was delivered on February 2022.Pros:- Sturdy build quality.- Portable.- Compatible with Windows and Mac laptops.- Works with phones, although HDMI/VGA ports may not function depending on your phone model.Cons:- March 2022: I found that I could only use the Type C port for charging the device, not for Type C storage.- Other drawbacks include the lack of a braided cable- No LED indicator for LAN- Absence of a status indicator of being plugged in- Support for only up to 4k30 fps (HDMI) and 1080p 60fps (VGA), there is no 4k60fps option.Suggestions/Scope for Improvement:- Replace the PVC-coated cable with a braided one.- Include LED indicators for LAN.- Add a small LED status indicator on the cable output plate to indicate whether the device is on or off.- Consider improving the device to support 4k60 fps and enhance cooling, possibly releasing a “plus” version.
