Not good for USB powered devices, okay for low power or externally powered devices
I had got the mini USB cable for my Canon portable document scanner, the device gets detected, but the moment you start scanning something, the scanner restarts, like there is a sudden loss of power. So looks like it’s not able to deliver enough power to the device. I tried getting a replacement, but even that had the same issue. The replacement was a piece which was already returned by another customer, I could infer from the packaging.I then got the Amazon Basics USB 2.0 Cable – A-Male to Mini-B – 6 Feet (1.8 Meters) cable, was only Rs 80 or so extra than this cable, and it worked beautifully on first try itself. The Amazon Basics cable feels more sturdy, and the connectors have a golden colour plating too.So this cable might work for low power devices, but with USB powered scanners or other such devices, it may not work.
