This product does not emit UVB rays at all. It can be used as a heat source though. I verified it with my uv tester card. I even tested my uv tester card with other uv sources and it works well. So if you are really serious about your pet’s health, best to get a bulb with actual UVB capabilities which will cost a lot more than this bulb
