The movie is a brilliant and one of the best movies of the last year.. Filled with amazing performances from Ben Affleck, Carrie Coon and Rosamund Pike, it’s an absolute treat. As for the product, I received it in a perfect brand new condition.. No distortion, no DVD problems and no delivery problem as well. I received it within promised time.

I had already read the book and was eagerly waiting for the movie. And was not disappointed! It is a great movie and it stayed with me a long time after watching it. There are so many layers to the story and I can only guess at the amount of work that went into making it.

One of the best thrillers have become a film classic, that’s all that I can say. This film, especially Pike’s acting, is the realised form of the adjective ‘chilling’.You simply have to see it. And once you have seen it, believe me, you won’t be able to forget it, ever.

Rosamund is probably at her very best in this movie, of the few movies I’ve seen of her, as she completely sells the sociopathic wife here. An unbelievably insane performance. One really feels for Ben’s character as her manipulated husband and the ending is truly sad.If you like sociopathic stories then absolutely watch this. There’s another one that isn’t on the same par with her in this movie but good in it’s own right which is Kevin Costner in Mr Brooks. He’s not the true definition of a sociopath in that film, but more of the psychopath who wants to stop but can’t. Not to mention the grand performance by William Hurt as his alter ego hallucination.In this movie Rosamund really, really nails it. She’s already got that creepy eye thing going in other movies like the one with Tom Cruise in Jack Reacher.In this film, her character literally hates on some other people as the movie unfolds and what she’s willing to do later on is so unexpected with her old boyfriend. No compassion at all…just murderous. She makes any man hanging out in ‘the dating scene’ step back real quick after seeing a performance like this one.

This is billed as a psychological thriller. It is a neo-noir psychological crime drama,and a very good one at that. I have been watching quite a lot of what is called “neo-noir films lately, and I often compare classic noir with the new noir. What I like aboutthe classic noirs is, what they don’t say, and what is implied. These days, film makershave more choice of what can be said, and sometimes they get over dramatic withlanguage and action, so they can be overly simple, for a simple audience. That is notthe case here.Gone Girl, is a story of our times in the age of multi-media, and the court of public opinion.This movie had a budget of 67 million dollars, and you can see where the money was spent.It was spent of the script and writing. This is a a writers film, written by Gillian Flynn, from herbook of the same name. The plot builds up and surprises at each turn, and I have to say themusic score is great. They could have went for a orchestrally score with lots of strings to heightenthe tension, but no they didn’t, they went with an electronic music soundtrack. At a very importantplot point, the music kicks in with a out of time beat to the the scene. It sounds jarring and out ofplace, but as the scene moves, it all makes sense. The music score reminded me of Hitchcock’sThe Birds, as in you don’t even notice it, and I have to say this is the kind of movie Alfred Hitchcockwould make today.This is a classic movie that will only get better with age, and, if you want to learn about GOOD writingwatch this film, as it is a master class in screenwriting
