The sponge is exactly as described. The seller did a great job describing the sponge, how to care for it and what to expect. All very useful information. Since I’ve used it, the sponge absorbs soap and water wonderfully, and holds the soap well so that I can get a great lather in the shower. Its ability to hold soap and lather as I use it is its greatest selling point. A great way to get a great soap lather for a great shower cleansing!

After years of using nylon mesh scrubbers with shower gel, a friend turned me onto using sea sponge material instead. This is my first one and it turns out to be a good decision. Small quantities of gel foam up nicely on this sponge and, as promised in the instructions, while it is dry and stiff when it arrives, as soon as it is saturated it becomes soft and pliable. It is less abrasive than my old nylon mesh but still has enough texture to lightly exfoliate as you wash.
