The newest historical romance series from USA Today Bestselling Romance Author Jess Michaels
Widow Rosalinde Wilde wants only to protect her beloved sister and find out the truth about her mysterious father. It seems she can do both when her sister becomes engaged to an earl, fulfilling their wicked grandfather’s desire to see one of them wed above her station. Now Rosalinde is on her way to the wedding when an unexpected storm waylays her at an overcrowded inn. There she meets a tempting stranger who sweeps her into a night of unforgettable passion. But when morning comes, they both walk away, certain they’ll never see each other again.
Grayson Danford never expected a night with the irresistible Mrs. Wilde, but she was a welcome distraction from the unpleasant duty of breaking up his brother’s impending nuptials. He’s shocked when he discovers his passionate lover is none other than the sister of his brother’s intended and she is just as determined to see this wedding go forward.
Now Rosalinde and Gray will butt heads, even as their simmering desire for each other threatens to boil over. Who will win? And who might lose it all?
This is the first book in the series (Seasons).

Loved it!
I quiet enjoyed this read. This is the first book I read from this author and I’m definitely checking out her other books.Rosalinde is a widow forced to take shelter in an inn because of a snow storm. She meets a stranger Gray and the two enjoys each other’s company during dinner. When it was time to retire, she finds a tree branch had broken her window and her bedroom couldn’t be used.Rosalinde and Gray shares the room and they decide to pursue their attraction for each other. One stolen night to remember for the rest of their lives before they’re on the road the next day. However, life has other plans. When they depart, Rosalinde realizes one night with him isn’t enough. To her horror she meets him again and learns he’s none other than her sister’s would be brother in law. What follows is the emotional drama of uncertainty and desire, which keeps the reader entertained throughout. I liked the writing style and there’s quite drama to keep us hooked. Rosalinde comes off as an innocent yet the one who follows her heart without fear. Gray is hard headed with a soft spot for the lady he met in the inn. There are other characters who are quiet likely. We don’t see much of them since the story mainly revolves around Rosalinde, Gray and the wedding. The ending can be somewhat guessed, but that doesn’t discourage us from reading. I’m looking forward to read the next book in this series.

The story plot is bit unusual. It was engaging and entertaining. All the characters were nice and strong and each held its place. Nice.

MUST-READ FOR ALL HISTORICAL ROMANCE LOVERS
I have never liked historical romances much. So, this is really huge for me. I came across a few free historical romances on Amazon & decided to give them a try. I am absolutely in looove ð & believe me No One is more surprised than me !!ð Anyway, this book captured me from the very beginning. I love how well the story is written. From heart-melting romance ð & sheets-on-fire chemistry ð¥ to pain, heartbreak ð & angst this book ticked off all the boxes & more. I cannot wait to dive into the other books in the series. ð¤©

Great start of an amazing collection! What not to love?… Love, passion…fear and a very nasty, mean man! Great characters to fall in love with. Can’t wait to learn more of Celia and all the rest of the amazing people we have just met!

This was such an amazing story. I’ve read it now for the second or is it third time and enjoyed it just as much. For me, this book is everything a historical romance should be. (except for maybe witty banty – but that tends to go along with a more light-hearted story which I also love) The backstories of these two characters were so intricately woven so that when the whole truth came out, you could see how Rosalind and Gray were pulled to each other, but also why they were both so protective of their siblings. I have to admit, I teared up again at the end. If you love a good love story with a deep connection and sex (this is by no means a clean sweet read) then I would HIGHLY recommend this book. I have only read one other book by Ms. Michaels – the first in the 1879 Club series – and that was also another 5 star read! I’m looking forward to reading more by this author.

In so many of these romances there are steamy scenes in the library. Seriously If I had been around in those days I would have been way too scared to get a book in case there were grunty aristocrats wrecking havoc with the shelving arrangements. Before steaming up the library the couple in this story are forced to share a room at an inn. Rosalind has a great personality despite a mean grandad and a meaner husband. Luckily the latter is deceased when she meets handsome Gray at an inn. Sparks fly but there are obstacles keeping them apart. It might sound standard romance but the excellent writing lifts it up a notch. It’s fun to read, never boring and has engaging dialogue. Excellent escapist entertainment.

As a long time fan of Jess Michaels books I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed in this story. To be quite honest, I bought it knowing nothing about the story at all! Well, I was right! I’ve been pulled, even though I wasn’t fighting the pull at all lol, into another great series. Great characters, solid story and a wish for the next in the series to come out quickly.I’m not going to re write what the story is about because if you’ve taken the time to scroll down to the reviews you probably have already read the basic premise of the story above. What follows is my somewhat rambling, apologies in advance, opinion of the story with no spoilers! In An Affair In Winter we first meet widow Mrs. Rosalinde Wilde, sister to Celia Fitzgilbert who is marrying Lucien Danford, Earl of Stenfax. On the way to the wedding she is stranded at an Inn do to a storm, which is where we meet Grayson Danford, brother to the Earl and who is determined to save his brother from a title grasping miss ( the afore mentioned Celia!). Still with me? Before the two realize who the other is sparks fly….and if you’ve read a Jess Michaels book before then you know the sparks are bound to be hot and steamy. If you haven’t had the pleasure of reading a novel of hers then I suggest you start with this one 🙂 you’re in for a treat *wink wink* But as I said before no spoilers, you’ll have to find out on your own just how ‘sparky’ these two get.An Affair In Winter is as perfect a Book 1 in a series as you can get. You meet almost all the characters that will form the future books in the series, at least that is what I’m assuming. You are given just the right amount of information on each of their backstories to make you want to get to know them and hear their stories. Jess Michaels is very good at character development, which is one of the reasons she is one of my favorite authors. None of this, however, detracts from the main story of Gray and Rosalinde, which is fantastic. This story has everything that, to me at least, makes a 5 Star book. Throw in an evil grandfather, a dark family secret (or two!) and the hot and steamy….did I mention the hot and steamy? and Ms. Michaels has herself a winner. Although we are the actual winners because we are the ones who get to read it! I’d recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good story with lots of excitement.Much to my happiness I won’t have to wait long for Book 2 in the Seasons series. I did my little happy dance when I read that A Spring Deception comes out in September 2016 YAY!! All I can say is keep them coming Jess Michaels.
