Comfortable and good sounding closed back under 8k
I love these headphones and this has become my daily driver. I use it for casual listening, movies and monitoring.Comfort: Very comfortable headphones. This is lightweight headphones and doesn’t have tight clamping force. Works fine with most head sizes. The padding is light though not uncomfortable. I can wear it for hours comfortably. I may upgrade for a thicker pads when this one wears out.Build: Very well built. The headphones feels sturdy in hand and can survive my clumsy handling. It folds well and I can carry it in my backpack easily. The coiled cables is made of quality material but undetachable and insanely long. The long cables can be wrapped over itself quickly to shorten it – check youtube videos. Spares of most parts are available online – so you don’t need to throw it away when something breaks.Sound: This is fairly neutral sounding phones with somewhat flat sound signature . Really crisp mids and lows with tight bass. The bass is not overpowering or physical yet is punchy – maybe passable for bassheads. It has more bass than my AKG K371 but not as much as Brainwavz HM55. Its slight extension towards lows and highs adds some coloration but I kind of enjoy it. So instruments may stand-up than vocals a bit. You can EQ it for really flat response if you want – google for calibrated eq settings. The listening experience is on par with K371 except for the soundstage. Sound stage is not very wide but enough for proper instrument separation. My laptop and mobile can drive this pretty loud, I listen at around 50% volume.Overall this is a good no-nonsense cans well worth its ~7k price tag. This model has been around for 36 years for its good engineering and value for money.

Reference headphones
I am a professional musician and composer, recording engineer. This headphone is just too good at this price range. Every detail of the sound is crystal clear and has a full frequency response. Gives a cinematic sound. Buy it.

Really Good Head phone for Recording Vocals, Basic Mixing and Mastering
Why is the Sony MDR-7506 so popular? How old is the Sony MDR-7506?What headphones are better than Sony MDR-7506? and so many questions but her is my answer, its about your own personal choice when it comes to listening, but based on my experience(bought in 2020, almost 4 year now) and it has been the best choise so far, this headphone introduced in 1991 almost 35 year a go, and its been industry slandered, Why because it’s cheap compare to other head phone and last longing, for large studio they don’t spend too much for daily used headphone for recoding and monitoring tracks.over all it good option for those who cant afford stereo monitor or dont have acoustically treated space for audio editing & mixing

Still the best
My father had bought this headphone in 90’s and I got this now after 28 years. Compare to the old 90’s version headphone this new Sony mdr 7506 has louder output. Sony mdr 7506 is still the loudest and bright sounding headphone that I have heard. This doesn’t have brain thumping bass but it still fun headphone. I have heard so many headphones in my life for me the Sony mdr 7506 is the perfect sounding headphone I have heard.

Perfectly balanced as all things should be
I am one of those unfortunate souls who ends up spending too much time before each significant purchase. I had wanted to pick up a pair of studio monitors for my amateur hobby of music production and to also use as a daily driver at home.Since I can no longer trust most audiophille websites, I try to track down individual users and read about their experiences. Reddit is perfect for this but unfortuantely they have a tendency of parroting the same talking point over and over regardless if they believe it or not themselves.”Harsh and sibilant highs’ were redditors favorite word for these headphones whenever they were talked about. You will read about how you need to get a beyrdynamic dt 770 pros and when you read about the beyrdynamics, they will tell you to get the sonys instead. Yeah, that’s reddit.Eventually I decided to not trust the airheads on the r/headphones and r/audiophile subreddits and decided to pick these headphones up.Boy was that a good decision. These are some of the best headphones I have experienced. I tried listening to the slightly more expensive ATH M50s and I found myself preferring these ones by a lot. They fit perfectly fine on my head. They aren’t tight and the seal is good. The sound like I mentioned is beautiful. Bass guitars are so clear! Vocals are so clear!, snare drums are so crisp! I can almost hear individual beads moving in Weyes Blood’s Seven Words. These headphones have been the one of the best decisions I ever made.In the words of your average Indian amazon customer: “close your eyes and buy”

Looks of 90’s but ever-amazing audio quality
The audio quality is without any doubt amazing, pristine, emphasizing the entire frequency range. You can hear each and every beat and note clearly. Some say it is not suitable for bassheads. But i feel that it is already too bassy. I don’t understand hoe much more bass do these bassheads need? The audio quality is the reason why thousands of these are still being sold. My only gripe is with the design. Sony is still sticking to the 90s design. Honestly it looks like an antique piece. Sony should keep the internals but should make cosmetic changes for better looks. The cable should have been detachable especially since it’s abnormally long and heavy. It sort of limits you to use it at home or studio only. Still you can use it on the go but that will be too much of a hassle with the cable.
